Fan awards that are given each year at the Gospel Post Convention are just what the name implies. They are awards that are bestowed upon the artist or group, determined solely by the number of votes recorded from the Southern Gospel listeners. These subscribers to the monthly Gospel Post are people who not only attend concerts in their area but also who take the time to send in their ballot to support their favorite artist or group. We the members of Hope Street, John, Darlene and Jonni, are so honored to have our names written each year on the list from which the fans select their votes. But to be chosen for an award was one of those possibilities that we didn’t think would happen because of all the wonderful groups and soloists that participate in the Gospel Post. We thank each one of you so much for choosing Hope Street for mixed group, John for baritone, Darlene for soprano and Jonni for alto for the year 2009. We were so honored that you, the fans, chose us to represent these categories and we treasure the personalized trophies that we were awarded. We give all the glory and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for without Him we would not be singing.

This is also a special year for us because Hope Street has been singing for twenty years and making a project each year in Nashville. The Lord has allowed us to minister in song, for a love offering only, at any church that wants us to come and permission to sell our product from a location determined by the pastor. We have never charged for a concert and Praise The Lord we never will. We are saddened that we were not at the Gospel Post convention to accept these awards and to thank each of you personally. At the next Hope Street concert you attend, please come to our table and talk with us, so we may get to know you better as a brother or sister in the Lord. Thank you again for helping Hope Street to continue to sing harmony that brings hope to the heart and that hope is found in only one, Jesus Christ!

Hummm Could this be a future Hope Street Member?? Who knows.

Hope Street is celebrating our 20th year singing southern gospel music. We were formed in 1989 as Calvary Quartet, however, changed our name to Hope Street Quartet before we recorded our first project in 1991. We have recorded 20 projects total since we began and most are on the MorningStar label with the Eddie Crook Company. So everyone needs to watch because you never know what may happen at our concerts to make this year a memorable year.
